VR > On the second floor of the church there is a hole, allowing you to see the first floor. Very cool.
VR > Like a lot of other things in Christianity candles seem to be to be an anachronism from pagan days. Nothing wrong with that - but shows that humans need some tangible connection with the spiritual world.
Apparently Orthodox followers can put up candles in Armenian temples - G-d will listen.
VR > The church is kinda built into a rock wall. Like all other churches here it was pretty small - I can't see a lot of people attending a mass at the same time.
VR > These are leftovers from the Zoroastrian religion - that's 1700 years (Armenia took Christianity in 302). People made a wish and hung up a piece of cloth in a holy place. Similar to some Bhuddist rite I think.
